State of Connecticut General Assembly Official Citation by Pesident Pro Tempore, Speaker of the House,           

 

Secretary of the State offered its sincerest congratulations in recognigion of extraordinary dedication and commitment to annually produce an evening of fine jazz has enriched the lives of all those fortunate enough  to experience the fruits of your labor. The introducers of this citation joiin with the residents of Hartford and this assembly to express our heartfelt gratitude and extend our best wishes for many years of success,                                                                       7 September 2002.

International 'Women In Jazz, Inc, a NYC based non-profit organization comprising influential and charismatic women and men from all strata of the professional jazz music industry, and jazz music enthusiasts from all parts of the globe presented Nick Mathis, Producer of The Many Colors of a W*O*M*A*N Jazz Concert with their Impact Award, March 25, 2001 at St. Peters Church, NYC.  

City of Hartford, Connecticut Official Citation presented to The Many Colors of a Woman, Inc. by Michael P. Peters, Mayor, September 9, 2000 in recognition of outstanding contributions and support to the greater Hartford community through the enrichment of Jazz and showcasing the extraordinary talents of women worldwide.

Worlk Reknown FIBERARIST Ed Johnetta Fowler-Miller's silk scarves were presented to The Many Colors of a W*O*M*A*N  Jazz Concert XVI Honoree Caroline Ray, former member of the International Sweethearts of Rhythm, and featured artists Lisa Brown, Poet/MC, Judy Lewis, visiting pianist from Jerusalem, Isreal, Africa and her Trio members Michael Scott, drums, Miriam Sullivan, bass; Dotti Anita Taylor, pianist, flutist, writer, arranger, vocalist; and Andrea Wolper, vocalist/bandleader, songwriter, Saturday, September 9, 2000.  Ed's work appears at the White House (Christmas 2008); in traveling exhibits, Soul and Spirit in Hartford, Spirits of the Cloth at the Smithsonian, Washington, DC, the Smithsonian's Women of Taste at museums in Oakland, CA, St. Paul, NM, and Logan, Kansas; St. Louis; in Africa; and Pressident Obama's World Quilt Exhibit in Japan.

It was terrific.  Just wanted you to know how very special you are. Continue, continue, continue! That's all I can say. You bring a lot to this community. My mom use to always say to me..."Look Mister Know-it-all, you are NOT my father!" lol  I can't help it!
