The Many Colors of a W*O*M*A*N

About Us

HISTORY. Founded in 1987, Incorporated October 7, 1992

MISSION.  To learn more about jazzwomen and highlight both the cultural and historical aspects of our jazz voyage. To gain skills to enable irresistible jazzwomen to work more effectively in partnership with other jazzwomen through the joy and necessity of performing their compositions before large live enthusiastic audiences. To discover, and provide a time and a place where jazzwomen are fully engaged and equally rewarded for their musical majesty.  A place where jasswomen tell their own stories, and tell them compellingly. To gather resources for presenting jazzwomen. To provide an opportunity to joyously share what is learned, including technical  knowledge, and insights with other jazz presenters. To collaborate with other Cultural Arts organizations. To promote economic development, neighborhood revitalization, sociability and cultural diversity through performance venues, hotel accommodations, and exposure to use of cultural sites. To development documentation for artistic promotion, and employment. To focus on diverse audience development with particular attention to embracing the underserved audience, including the physically challenged. To include multiple artistic disciplines in jazz presentations.
